Social Media Ambassadors Team Handbook
About SMAT
The University of West Georgia Social Media Ambassador Team, overseen by University Communications and Marketing, is a fun and unique opportunity for UWG students to gain professional experience managing and creating content for social media before graduation.
The Social Media Ambassador Team utilizes Instagram, with each ambassador having their own UWG branded account where they share their student experience and life as a student at the University of West Georgia. Ambassadors’ content is driven by photos and other engaging content such as Instagram Reels, Stories, Guides, and more.
The Design Process
Designing the handbook for the University of West Georgia Social Media Ambassadors Team was an opportunity to create a resource that is both functional and visually engaging. I transformed the original handbook, initially drafted in Word, into a polished and professional design using Adobe InDesign.
The first seven pages of the handbook remain faithful to the original wording, ensuring consistency with established content. However, for the remainder of the handbook (excluding the branding information), I took the initiative to write all new content from scratch. I incorporated elements I believed would be especially helpful for new ambassadors, focusing on practical tips and clear explanations to help them succeed in their roles.
This project allowed me to combine content creation and design to produce a cohesive and user-friendly handbook. It’s designed to help new ambassadors feel confident and prepared while also reflecting the professionalism and energy of the team.

One Valdosta-Lowndes (OVL) is more than just a collaboration; it's a unified force for positive change. As a public-private initiative, OVL brings together key community organizations, businesses, and public sector leaders with a shared vision: to enhance economic growth, workforce development, education, and overall community well-being in Lowndes County.
Unique Identifiers
The logo's design and color scheme were meticulously chosen to ensure distinction within the Valdosta-Lowndes County Area. No other business or brand incorporates this particular palette, making the OVL logo a truly unique identifier of the initiative's values and mission.
The Design Process
I had the privilege of designing the logo for OVL, a project that encapsulated the essence and aspirations of this impactful initiative. At the heart of the design lies the representation of Lowndes County within the "O" of One, symbolizing unity and focus on local community growth. The choice of blue as the primary color reflects the open spaces, freedom, and stability that are integral to the vision of OVL.

With a strategic plan centered around engagement, empowerment, talent, and opportunity, OVL is dedicated to making a tangible difference in the lives of Southern Georgia's citizens. The logo serves as a visual representation of this commitment, embodying the unity and forward-thinking mindset of the entire community.
