I'm Hailey Wilkinson, a passionate storyteller with extensive experience in video production, photography, graphic design, and writing.

I began my journey at Valdosta State University, graduating Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Mass Media and Communication, specializing in Public Relations. Throughout my academic journey, I refined my skills in content creation, editing, marketing, and communication, immersing myself in the vibrant intersection of visual and written storytelling.

Post-graduation, I worked as the Communications and Marketing Director at the Valdosta-Lowndes Chamber of Commerce. During my tenure, I spearheaded strategic communication initiatives, revamped the digital media presence, and curated engaging content that significantly elevated the Chamber's brand visibility and engagement.

In my role as the Senior Director of Creative Video for Troy Athletics, I led a dynamic creative video team, producing captivating content spanning all 17 sports, igniting fan engagement like never before. My work with the Troy Men's Basketball team stands out as a highlight, where I created dynamic intro videos, recaps, and promotional content that energized our fanbase and showcased the dedication of our athletes.

Recognizing the value of every athlete's journey, I expanded video coverage to spotlight underrepresented sports, ensuring that key players and milestones receive the recognition they deserve. Through close collaboration with our Sports Information Directors, my team and I were able to include statistical data in our narratives, catering to the diverse tastes of our audience.

I made it my mission to elevate Troy University Athletics' brand impact through innovative video productions that resonate with fans and stakeholders alike. Each frame isn't just a snapshot; it's a testament to the passion and dedication driving our athletes and our community forward.

Recently, I started working with the Social Media Ambassador Team, where I had the opportunity to revamp their handbook. I contributed by rewriting sections and adding new content that provides ambassadors with practical tips and clear guidance to help them succeed in their roles. This experience has allowed me to combine my skills in content creation and communication, further strengthening my ability to tell compelling stories and connect with audiences.

My journey isn't just about capturing moments; it's about weaving narratives that celebrate the essence of each individual's story. Whether it's on the field or off, I'm dedicated to immortalizing the moments that define us, showcasing the raw emotion that shapes our lives.

My goal is to continue leveraging my abilities to tell meaningful stories that resonate with audiences. I am particularly interested in opportunities that allow me to work within a community I am passionate about, using my talents to foster a sense of pride and connection.

Currently, I am a Graduate Assistant in the Communications and Marketing Department at the University of West Georgia. In this role, I schedule and conduct interviews, write articles, and create videos to promote campus events, including a recent video to promote our annual “A Day To Give West” Campaign. I capture and edit high-quality photos and videos for various events, contributing to the university’s visual storytelling and enhancing engagement on social media platforms. I am fortunate to collaborate with a talented team that values effective content planning and the power of teamwork.

    o Updates the Chamber’s press release section on the website

    o Updates pictures on the Chamber’s website as needed

    o Coordinates with Communications & Marketing Director to post on Valdosta

  • • Coordinated media shoots in collaboration with the Athletic Department, ensuring seamless execution and attention to detail to capture compelling visuals and narratives.

    • Lead the development of dynamic marketing materials, encompassing videos, photos, and graphics, to elevate brand visibility.

    • Worked closely with the VSU Marketing team to maintain alignment with branding guidelines across all content, ensuring a consistent and cohesive brand image across platforms.

    • Strategically devised and implemented a comprehensive posting schedule across all social media platforms, guaranteeing consistent and timely updates to effectively engage our target audience.

    • Leveraged a multi-medium approach encompassing photo, video, and graphics to achieve a 6.7% increase in social media engagement.

  • The Larry Etling Scholarship, established in 2016, honors the legacy of Dr. Laurence (Larry) Etling, who served as a professor in the Mass Media program at Valdosta State University from 1999 until his passing in 2015. The purpose of the scholarship is to support high-quality students as they pursue their careers in Mass Media and to encourage students to act as advocates for their discipline. The scholarship provides an award of $1,500 to its recipient and was endowed as a gift to the University from Etling upon his passing.
